RasnaSaptakam Kashayam, also available as RasnaSaptakam Kwatham is a simple Ayurvedic formulation in a decoction form which is highly effective in the treatment of Low Back Pain, Sciatica and Sacro-Iliac joint disease / pain.

Ingredients:
RasnaSaptakam Kashayam, as the name itself indicates, has 7 ingredients led by its main ingredient Rasna.
The ingredients of RasnaSaptakam Kashayam are as below said:
- Rasna: Pluchea Lanceolata
- Guduchi: Tinospora cordifolia
- Aragwadha: Cassia Fistula
- Devadaru: Cedrus deodara
- Gokshra: Tribulus Terrestris
- Erandamoola: The root of Ricinus Communis
- Punarnava: Boerhaavia diffusa
RasnaSaptaka Kashayam is a brilliantly formulated compound found in the texts of Ayurveda. It is a perfect combination and ranks much beyond just being a painkiller.
It has in it, potential herbs which has the below said properties:
- Shotahara/Vedanahara: Analgesic & Anti-inflammatory (Rasna, Eranda, Punarnava),
- Amahara: Detoxificants (Rasna, Guduchi, Aragwadha & Devadaru),
- Agni Deepana: Metabolizers (Guduchi and Gokshura),
- Rasyana: Immune Modulators & Tissue Rejuventors (Guduchi and Punarnava)
- Balakaraka: Strengtheners(Guduchi, Gokshura)
- Mootrala: Diuretics (Gokshura) Nutrition (Gokshura)
- Mrudu rechaka: Laxative (Aragwadha)
- Sroto vibandhahara: Channel block cleansers (Devadaru)
- Poshana: Nutrition (Gokshura)
The combined effect of the compound successfully alleviates pain, inflammation & stiffness present in Back pain, Sciatica, Arthritis of joints and soft tissues in the lower limbs, Sciatica, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Sacro-iliac pain.
Dose (Adult):
Kasayam (Liquid): 10 to 15 ml diluted with 30 to 45 ml of warm water 2-3 times a day.
Kashayam tablets: 2-3 tablets twice or thrice a day, with warm water.
A pinch of powder of dry ginger is added and mixed in the Kashayam before consumption.
Note: Dosage varies with age
When to take?: At least ½ hour to ¾ hour before food or at 6am and 6pm as recommended by the physician.
Note: The dose and the number of times a Kashayam or Kashayam Tablet to be taken depends on the nature and type of backpain, Prakriti (Constitution of the patient) and many other factors. Your doctor will be the right person to take a call on the quality and quantity of the medicine.
Uses:
- Relieves Back Pains of varied aetiology and relieves associated complaints like stiffness etc.
- Sacro-Iliac joint disease and Lumbo-Sacral pain, Coccygeal pain
- Sciatica
- Pain in flanks, hip, pelvis and hip joint
- Pain in thighs
- Pain in legs (calf)
