Kottamchukkadi Churnam – Excellent application in Rheumatic Pains and Swelling in Amavata (Rheumatoid Arthritis), Sandhigata Vata (Osteoarthritis), Kati Shoola (Low Back Pain)

Kottamchukkadi Churnam is an excellent remedy for Rheumatic Pains and Swelling (Vata Vikara) and is used as an external application. It should be done with the guidance and supervision of an Ayurvedic doctor.

Composition of Vyoshadi Vatakam:

  • Kushtam / Kottam – Saussurea lappa
  • Chukku / Sunthi – Zingiber officinale
  • Vayambu / Vacha – Acorus calamus
  • Shigru – Moringa oleifera
  • Lashunam – Allium sativum
  • Kartotti / Kamsamara – Hugonia mystax
  • Devadruma / Devadaru – Cedrus deodara
  • Siddhartha / Sarshapa – Brassica juncea
  • Suvaha / Rasna – Alpinia galangal

Available form:

  • Churnam / Choornam – Herbal fine powder

Use:

  • External Application

Dose:

  • As required

With……..

  • Made into paste with Tamarind juice, warm water, suitable medicated / herbal oils or as directed by Ayurveda doctor

 

Indications:

  • Vata Roga / Vata Vikara’s – Diseases of Vayu predominance, Rheumatic Pains
  • Shotha – Swelling / Inflammation in Rheumatic diseases
  • Amavata – To reduce pain and swelling in Rheumatoid Arthritis, Rheumatism
  • Sandhigata Vata – To reduce pain and swelling in Osteo-arthritis
  • Vatarakta – Gout
  • Mamsagata Vata – Myalgia / Muscular pains

Other Uses:

  • Used as an ingredient in Churna Pinda Sweda (Bolus Powder Fomentation) treatment. This is preferred to relieve pain and swelling in Rheumatic diseases like Amavata and Sandhigata Vata. It is also effectively used in relieving pain and swelling in Kati Shoola and Kati Graha (Low Back Pain, Lumbago), Greeva Shoola and Greeva Stambha (Cervical Spondylisis, Neck Pain), Prishta Shoola (Spinal Pain, Spondylitis / Spondylosis) etc.

Nimbamritadi Eranda Tailam / Nimbamrutadi Eranda Tailam is a highly effective herbal laxative extensively used in Ayurvedic rheumatology. It is preferred as a regular laxative to remove endo-toxins and also help in metabolism in rheumatism and musculo-skeletal disorders. It relieves constipation and controls Vayu. It also acts as an analgesic in Rheumatoid Arthritis (Amavata), Gout (Vatarakta), Osteo-arthritis (Sandhigata vata), Musculo-skeletal pain & soft tissue pains (Mamsagata vata, Snayugata Vata and Medogata vata).
